Uses
Thickeners (high-efficiency thickeners) are generally composed of the following parts: thickening tank, bun rack, transmission device, bun rack lifting device, feeding device, unloading device and signal safety device. The main feature of its work is to add a certain amount of flocculant to the slurry to be concentrated. The purpose is to make the ore particles in the slurry form flocs, which can speed up the sedimentation rate, thereby increasing the concentration rate and speeding up the concentration efficiency.
According to the structure of the thickener, it can be divided into central drive thickener, peripheral drive thickener, high-efficiency thickener, sludge thickener, intermittent thickener, peripheral drive thickener, sectional rake thickener, center rake thickener Thickener. Vertical flow and radial flow continuous thickeners.

The thickener is a solid-liquid separation device based on gravity sedimentation. It can concentrate the slurry with solid weight of 10%-20% by gravity sedimentation into underflow slurry with solid content of 45%-55%. The slow-running (1/3～1/5r/min) rake makes the thickened underflow slurry discharged from the underflow port at the bottom of the thickener.

Classification
There are three main types of thickeners according to their transmission methods, of which the first two are more common:
▶ Center drive type. Usually the diameter of such thickeners is small, generally within 24 meters.
▶ Peripheral roller drive type, the more common large and medium-sized thickener. It is named because it is driven by a transmission car. The diameter is usually about 53 meters, there are also 100 meters.
▶ Peripheral rack drive type. This basic diameter is above 53 meters.
Features
The thickener has the following four major characteristics:
(1) Adding flocculants can increase the particle size of the settled solid particles, which can speed up the settling speed;
(2) Install an inclined plate to shorten the settling distance of the ore particles and increase the settling area;
(3) Play the role of flocculating, filtering, compressing and increasing the processing capacity of the thick layer of mud sediment;
